How to donate to Resale Select

Our donation door is open:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

We occasionally need to close the donation door unexpectedly due to space constraints, so please check our store calendar, or call ahead prior to stopping by: 763-489-7549.

We reserve the right to decline donations that are not in the condition needed to give to clients or sell in the store.

In accordance with state laws and for the safety of our staff and volunteers, do not leave donations outside the building at any time.

Quick tips for donating:

• Clean your items before donating. This ensures your donation can be put to good use right away!
• Hand-select your best items for us! This saves valuable resources in the sorting process.
• Quality of donations is more critical than quantity when donating clothing and household goods.

PREPARE YOUR DONATION:

• Pre-sort your donations by separating clothing and household items.
• All donations must be in a box or sturdy bag (paper grocery bags are preferred).
  • No loose items accepted. We have reusable bags you may use at the donation door.
  • Please do not use plastic totes or lawn bags.
• Clothing should be in clean, ready-to-wear condition and neatly folded, not on hangers
• Toys must meet current safety standards and include all parts.
• Large donation? Please fill out this donation form.
• Request pre-approval for all furniture (including patio furniture).
  • Send a photo and detailed description to our team resaleselect@iocp.org. Once we approve the donation, you can stop by to donate the item.

we accept:

Clothing & Accessories, new or gently used, unless noted:

• Clothing and athletic wear: men’s, women’s and children’s (especially large sizes men’s and women’s)
• Handbags, purses, jewelry, please note if authentic
• Shoes, must be clean and in wearable condition
• Undergarments, including bras, underwear and socks in package, must be new

Household items, new or gently used, unless noted:

• Air mattresses or egg mat rollups in original packaging and free from holes or leaks (new only, for clients)
• Artwork and home décor, must be clean and free of damage
• Blankets and throws, curtains, tablecloths, towels
• Furniture including sofas, coffee tables, dining room tables and chairs, bookshelves, and more
• Pots and pans, full sets of dishes and flatware
• Sheet sets, all sizes (new or like new), bed pillows (new only)
• Small kitchen appliances, like toasters, slow cookers, coffee pots, etc., must be clean and functional
• Small electronics, must be clean and functional
• TVs, LED & LCD & must include power cord, stand, and remote
• Bicycles (accepted April-Aug. only)
• Books, must be current and in like-new condition. Records, DVDs, CDs
• Crafts and craft supplies
• Health and beauty supplies, must be new and unopened, no samples
• Sporting goods, new and like new condition
• Toys, must meet current safety standards and include all parts
• Walkers, canes, scooters for mobility
• Quality vintage and collectibles, please label “Vintage” on box

we cannot accept

• No estate or garage sale leftovers. No items with yard sale tags.
• No exercise machines
• No large appliances, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, microwaves, carpeting, light fixtures, or ceiling fans
• No infant gear, including car seats, cribs, potty chairs, nursing pumps, bottles, changing tables, high chairs, portable cribs, baby gates
• No mattresses, box springs, headboards, bed frames or sleeper sofas
• No medical equipment
• No office furniture, computer monitors, printers or fax machines
• No used stuffed animals
• No VCRs or VCR tapes
• No Christmas or seasonal décor (accepted Sept.-Dec. only)
