Have you ever wondered what it would be like to not have an address?
Hawa, one of our case managers, tried to put it in words. She said, “Housing is foundational. When people are experiencing homelessness, they feel like nobody sees them. They feel invisible.”
In this community, we choose to see our neighbors and respond. When you give, you help us fight the real and compounded barriers faced by the 2,000 local families we work with each year.
Will you respond with your best gift by Dec. 31 to strengthen local families? If you have already given to the Sleep Out, we thank you wholeheartedly and ask you to share this message with others.
Without the foundation of stable housing, other complex challenges arise. “Affordable housing matters – it’s a domino effect,” explained Hawa. “If you don’t have housing, you will not be able to keep a job. Your children will not do well in school. Your physical, mental and emotional health will suffer.”
Together, we can help meet foundational needs while helping neighbors feel seen, heard and cared for.
Let’s get after it.
With gratitude,
Kevin Ward
