We are living in unusual times. The global pandemic and the frailty of our national economy have added pressure to our days. And, for the folks we work with who don’t have stable housing or who are trying to make ends meet without a reliable income, life just got so much harder.
Over the years, people have told us that volunteers have provided them with new skills to seize opportunities, make meaningful connections and access community supports.
What program participants have to say
“There is no other place in Minnesota like this. They [the volunteers] care about you and your experience. They’re warm, kind and friendly.” –Interfaith program participant
“I am immensely grateful to the food shelf volunteers, who are simply amazing. It was busy when my daughter and I arrived, but they were so helpful and patient.” –Interfaith program participant
“I feel strongly that you and your team members should be recognized for the exemplary service you provide. Your willingness to always go the ‘extra 100 miles’ for the many clients you work with is commendable and admirable to say the least. I have never met a more gracious, compassionate group of volunteers. You are a shining example of the wonderful and thriving organization LaDonna Hoy created.” –Rides program participant
