We have until April 16, 2021 to reach our fundraising goal of $200,000 for the Prevent Hunger campaign. A $1 donation allows us to source $9 of food from partners, $563 provides an individual a year of support from a case manager, and $1,999 provides employment services for an individual to land a career job. Your financial support not only provides the resources to respond to emergency needs, it allows us to address the root causes of poverty.
Hunger is a symptom of poverty, unemployment, under-employment and other challenges families face. To strengthen our response to those challenges, we made some changes to our service delivery model.
Our Case Management team has re-organized into smaller, more specialized teams.
Areas of focus include:
- Client welcoming
- Emergency financial assistance
- Short- and long-term case management
- Early childhood development
Our Employment Services team spent the last year immersed in a process called Human Centered Design (HCD). This process provided a structure for aligning our services with the needs of our client community, while also being informed by stakeholder experiences, research and local trends.
Employment Services now has four areas of focus:
- Easy access to computer skill-building and job search assistance
- 1:1 employment coaching for active job seekers
- Access to employment training
- Job retention support
The team is continuing to grow employer partnerships, create networking opportunities, build on-ramps to living wage jobs through training, and provide virtual workshops to decrease isolation and increase support.
Your support helps us meet emergency needs and address the root causes. We could not do this without your generosity.
