The quality of your donations matters.

Please donate only the items you would donate to a friend. Avoid including trash, broken items, or unfunctional items in your donation. We reserve the right to decline donations that are not in the condition needed to give to clients or sell in the store.

CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES

  • Clothing & Athletic Wear – Men’s, Women’s and Children’s sizes – large men’s and women’s sizes needed most
  • Underwear and Bras, Sports Bras, Socks (all sizes) NEW items only
  • Shoes – all styles, clean and in wearable condition
  • Handbags and purses – new and like new quality, please note if authentic
  • Jewelry – all types and conditions (we accept broken jewelry!)
  • Formal Wear and Business Wear – current styles and like new quality

HOUSEHOLD ITEMS, HOME DECOR & ARTWORK

  • Small Appliances and Electronics, must be clean and functional
  • New and like-new Pots & Pans, full sets of Dishes, and Flatware
  • Home Decor such as artwork, knickknacks, signs, candles, picture frames, and vases
  • Sheet Sets, all sizes (new or like new), pillows (new only)
  • Air Mattresses or Egg mat Rollups – new in original packing, free from holes or leaks
  • Vintage and Collectibles – please label the box “vintage”

FURNITURE

Pre-approval is needed for all furniture donations. Please send a photo and detailed description to resaleselect@iocp.org and allow 2 business days for a response. Once we approve the donation, you can stop by to donate the item.

  • Dining Tables & Chairs – as sets or separates
  • Upholstered Chairs and Sofas – without pilling, fading, or smells
  • Coffee Tables, End Tables, Bookshelves
  • Cabinets, Consoles, and Stands
  • Patio Furniture – seasonal only

BOOKS & MEDIA

  • Fiction and Nonfiction Books – must be in new or like-new condition
    • Hardcover, softcover, and gift-worthy
    • All genres: adult, teen, children’s
  • DVDs & Records

TOYS

  • Toys for all ages, in new or like-new condition, must meet current safety standards and include all parts

SEASONAL ITEMS

  • Christmas & Holiday Decor – accepted September – December only
  • Bicycles – accepted April – August only

  • Computer monitors, printers, fax or copy machines

how to prepare your donation

  • No loose items accepted.
    • We have reusable bags you may use to repack your items on-site.
  • Clean your items before donating. This ensures your donation can be put to good use right away!
  • Hand select your best items for us! This saves valuable resources in the sorting process.
  • Quality of donations is more critical than quantity when donating clothing and household goods. 
  • Clothing should be in clean, ready-to-wear condition
  • Label any higher end or designer items as either “authentic” or “replica.” We sell both and want to be sure we price them appropriately.
  • Pre-sort your donations by separating clothing from household items.
  • All donations must be in a box or sturdy bag (paper grocery bags are preferred).
    • Please do not use plastic totes or lawn bags.
    • Fold all clothing neatly or lay flat into a box or sturdy bag (not on hangers).
  • Include all pieces/parts of an item; toys must meet current safety standards.
  • Request pre-approval for all furniture (including patio furniture) and large donations.
    • Send a photo and detailed description to our team resaleselect@iocp.org. Once we approve the donation, you can stop by to donate the item.

A few easy guidelines for the quality of books customers are looking for in the store. Resale Select is not your average thrift store. Every quality clothing item, household good, piece of jewelry or furniture treasure is chosen with care. Since 2011, Resale Select has provided stellar merchandise at thrift store prices. 📦 For large furniture donations, we now offer paid pick-up services by Resupply. Click the orange DONATION PICKUP button in the corner of your screen to get started.

If you have a large donation (e.g. a truckload or multiple carloads) for the food shelf or Resale Select, or a donation that includes large items such as furniture, please fill out this form BEFORE DROP-OFF to ensure the best possible experience. Our staff will respond to help answer questions and confirm details before you bring in your items.
