“How can I give back to my community?”

Are you a west metro resident, group leader, or business owner looking for ways to give back to your community?

Suburban poverty is on the rise according to a recent update from The Brookings Institution. This means local individuals and families – and nonprofit organizations like Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners – need your immediate support.

In FY25, Interfaith made an impact on the lives of 5,367 people in 1,643 households. We provided neighbors with access to basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter – and we equipped them for ongoing stability by offering financial, family/individual or employment guidance. We were able to do this because compassionate community members like you were determined to give back.

Here’s how you, too, can join our network of valued supporters and make an impact on your community:

  • DONATE GOODS. Interfaith has opportunities for you to donate food and household essentials like toiletries to our food shelf, which served nearly 1,200 households last year.

Our Resale Select thrift store is located right next to our office in Plymouth and accepts new or like-new clothing, accessories, furniture and decor items. A portion of the store’s sales support our programs and services; some items go directly to neighbors in need.

  • DONATE MONEY. Around 75% of Interfaith’s expenses go directly to our programs and services. Every dollar counts toward meeting our mission – please consider making an online donation today!

  • VOLUNTEER. Your “free” time is actually worth a lot at Interfaith: In FY25, volunteers served more than 35,000 hours valued at $1,186,801. This hands-on way to give back also allows you to make new friends, experience new things, and share your skills with others – all while doing good in our community. • SPREAD THE WORD. We share inspiring stories, events, and other updates with our network year-round. Tell your family, friends, classmates or coworkers to follow us on Facebook or LinkedIn or sign up for our eNewsletter to stay in the know – and to help us strengthen and celebrate our vibrant community.
