we celebrate our inaugural award recipients

Interfaith Outreach celebrated the work of six outstanding youth volunteers by presenting each with our inaugural Interfaith Outreach Youth Philanthropist Award on Saturday, May 16. Each young person volunteered at least 50 hours between Feb. 1, 2019 – Jan. 31, 2020, and did an additional project to benefit Interfaith Outreach. Four award winners were from Wayzata High School, one from Benilde-St. Margaret’s and one from Orono Public Schools High School. Congratulations to all!

what is the youth philanthropist award?

The Interfaith Outreach Youth Philanthropist Award ignites the goodwill of youth from all over our community. Every year, hundreds of high school students volunteer countless hours with Interfaith Outreach. This award will allow these generous students to be recognized by Interfaith Outreach for their remarkable commitment. There is no fee associated with this award. Students are just asked to volunteer, get involved and reflect on their experience. Once a year, Interfaith Outreach will honor and award all of the students who have met the criteria with a certificate of achievement.

The future is our youth. Philanthropy starts young, and we notice it.

You are eligible if you:

  • are a high school student
  • are signed up to volunteer with Interfaith Outreach
  • volunteer 50+ hours

  • build your resume
  • strengthen your college applications
  • receive a certificate
