SLEEP OUT


Interfaith Outreach’s 2021 Sleep Out ended on Dec. 31, and the community (YOU!) stepped up in remarkable, over-the-top, unprecedented ways.

THANK YOU to everyone who spread the word, gave generously, and braved the cold to support our neighbors. Because of you, our annual Sleep Out efforts raised more than $3 million, which will be used to prevent homelessness and strengthen families right here in our own community.

Your generosity will provide:

  • caring case managers who help people through crises so they can stabilize and strengthen
  • rent assistance so families can keep their housing, preventing eviction and homelessness
  • utility payment assistance that keeps the lights and other utilities on
  • Employment Services support including access to education/training that helps people find and keep living-wage jobs
  • fresh and culturally-specific foods at the new SuperShelf food shelf

2021 Sleep out events

Along with organizing a Sleep Out (or Sleep In) or donating to our campaign, there are other opportunities to help nearly 2,000 local families at risk of homelessness.

COMMUNITY CONVERSATION
Wednesday, Dec. 15

Poverty, affordable housing and mental illness are often interconnected. Attend a free Zoom conversation, “Housing, Homelessness & Mental Health,” to explore the impact of housing instability and homelessness on mental health. Hear from an expert guest presenter and Interfaith staff, and learn how you can be part of the solution as our community is poised to take action. Click here to learn more and RSVP.

Shop With a Purpose
Thursday & friday, Dec. 16 & 17

Support local businesses and help prevent homelessness during this unique Sleep Out event. Shop and dine with generous partners who donate a portion of their sales to Interfaith. Help reach the $3 million Sleep Out goal while running regular holiday errands. Click here for a complete list of participating businesses!

KICKOFF & Community-WIDE Sleep Out
saturday, Nov. 13

Join us in our parking lot from 7-9 p.m. for kickoff festivities while safely connecting with neighbors. We encourage anyone planning a sleep out (or in) to hold it this night in your backyard, car or location of choice.

Give to the Max Day
thursday, Nov. 18

Help the Sleep Out reach the $1 million mark by Give to the Max Day! Here are two easy ways to help:

1) Make a donation by Nov. 18 and double your dollars! A generous donor will match gifts up to $200,000.

2) Create a #GTMD21 fundraiser! Log onto givemn.org (or create an account), click the “Fundraise” button and create your Sleep Out fundraiser from our template. Then invite friends to give!
